How this prototype calculates support

Each relevant past result is mapped to the chosen home/away perspective and checked against the selection. Recent form uses up to 10 previous league matches per team (40% weight); venue form uses up to 10 previous home matches for the home team and away matches for the away team (25%); season-to-date uses all earlier matches in this dataset (25%); head-to-head uses up to five earlier meetings (10%). Missing components are omitted and remaining weights rescaled.

Both teams need at least five prior matches for a score. Sample counts are team observations and can overlap between components. Small samples, especially head-to-head, are unstable. The weights and support bands are design choices that have not been calibrated or validated for forecasting. High: 75–100; moderate: 60–74; low: 45–59; very low: 0–44.

The cutoff is midnight UTC on the earliest selected match date. Full-time results include stoppage time. This season-only dataset omits other competitions and prior seasons. Actual results remain hidden in the interface until you reveal them, but are present in the downloaded public dataset; this is a learning demo, not a blinded backtest.
